There are just so many anti-Dair posts that I feel like I need to express something
They say Dan and Blair are acting OOC, but that’s what love does to people.
Also people change, it’s called character development.
Blair loves romance, and Dan gives her everything unconditionally. She realises he is practically her man minus the actual dating part. So after she comes to that realisation Blair goes for it.
Dan has always been a lost puppy dog writer. However, now he sees that he does everything for Blair. He should go for it, because he does feel a spark between them. They have so much in common and have chemistry.
Blair and Chuck: both loved to entertain, devised plans together, had physical chemistry since both had a ‘wicked’ side to them. Blair grew out of that. But every time Blair rejected Chuck for whatever reason, intentionally or not, Chuck dealt with it by sleeping with someone/other physically negative things. Which hasn’t changed even until this episode. Even though he has grown, e.g. letting Blair marry someone else and not ruining it. When he truly saw she moved on (with Dan) he retaliated with sleeping with yet another woman. I think the saying “The more you try to change, the more you stay the same.” applies here.
Whereas, Dan and Blair have learned to grow as people after facing difficulties and have been through them together.
I used to ship Chair until Chuck hurt Blair once more, this time physically, and after Dan showed true potential of being a healthy partner for Blair.
Usually people start complaining how the character is the same and that it’s getting repetitious, predictable and boring. I’m surprised that Chair fans haven’t pointed that out yet.
